WordPress still runs a large share of the web because editors already know how to use it. I build WordPress sites for publishers, marketing teams and small businesses that need a site that looks like their brand, loads fast and is easy to update, without a page builder slowing every page down. I also work with agencies as a white-label WordPress developer when they need senior help on a client build.
Typical projects:
I use Bedrock for the project structure and Sage for the theme, so the site is managed with Composer, kept in Git and deployed the same way every time. Content is modeled with ACF Pro: your editors get fields and blocks that match the content instead of a blank canvas they can break. Business logic goes into small custom plugins rather than the theme, so a redesign later does not take your features with it.
I keep the plugin list short and every plugin justified. That means fewer updates to apply, fewer conflicts and pages that stay fast as the site grows.
I built and maintain the WordPress sites of three Maltese magazines: VAMP Magazine, Served and The Malta Artpaper. For Good Earth, a Maltese natural-food importer, I built a site on Bedrock and Sage with a catalog of about 1,000 products imported from CSV through a custom plugin, a recipe section, and a "Peel & Win" campaign made of a custom plugin and a Vue app with Facebook login. NVC Trading, an online store for building materials and DIY supplies, runs a React front end on WordPress. You can see all of them in my portfolio.
Projects start from €1,900; you get a fixed quote after a short scoping call. The main factors are the number of unique page templates, how much content has to be moved, custom plugins or integrations, and whether you sell online. For stores with more complex checkout needs, my e-commerce and payments service goes deeper. After launch I can keep the site updated, backed up and monitored through maintenance and support. If you have outgrown WordPress altogether, a migration to Nuxt is another option.
You work directly with me, a senior developer with 15+ years of experience, not with an account manager or a junior I hand you off to. You own all the code, and I am happy to sign an NDA before you share anything.

We go through your content, how your editors work and what the site has to do. I tell you honestly whether WordPress is the right fit.
You get a written proposal with the templates, content types and plugins in scope, a timeline and a fixed price.
I build on a staging site you can click through, and we review progress every week while changes are still cheap to make.
I move the content, set up redirects, launch and hand over the code, the access and the editor guide. Maintenance afterwards is optional.
VAMP Magazine, a Maltese lifestyle magazine covering fashion, art, design and food, with print subscriptions.
Served, Malta's recipe magazine, with recipes, eating-out guides and print copies.
The Malta Artpaper, a quarterly print magazine about Maltese and international visual art, with news, events and interviews.
Website for Good Earth Natural Foods in Malta, with a catalogue of 1,000 products by brand, recipes and a Vue "Peel & Win" campaign app.
Online store for building materials, tools and DIY supplies, with a React front end on top of WordPress.
Projects start from €1,900 for a custom theme on a small site. Builds with custom plugins, WooCommerce or large content imports get a fixed quote after a short scoping call. Smaller changes to an existing site are billed at €60/hour.
Yes. I start by reviewing the theme, the plugins and the hosting, then tell you what is worth keeping and what is causing the problems. Many slow or fragile sites can be cleaned up without a full rebuild.
I build custom themes with ACF Pro blocks instead, so pages load faster and editors still get flexible layouts that cannot break the design. If your site already runs on a page builder, I can work with it or plan a gradual move away from it.
Yes. I write plugins for data imports, campaigns, integrations with external APIs and admin tools. For Good Earth, a Maltese food importer, I built one plugin that imports a catalog of about 1,000 products from CSV and another that runs a Peel and Win campaign.
Classic WordPress is the simpler choice when non-technical editors publish often and plugins cover your needs. If you want an app-like front end or very fast pages, I keep WordPress as the CMS and build the front end in Nuxt or React, as on the NVC Trading store.
A small site with a custom theme usually launches within two to four weeks, depending on how quickly content and feedback arrive. Larger builds with custom plugins, imports or WooCommerce take longer, and the proposal includes a timeline.
Stripe checkouts, subscriptions, invoices and WooCommerce stores that convert and reconcile cleanly.
Updates, security patches, monitoring, backups and small improvements on a monthly plan, from a developer who knows your code.
Vue 2 to 3, Nuxt 2 to 4, Laravel and PHP upgrades, or WordPress to Nuxt, without freezing your roadmap.
