AI integration

AI integration for existing web apps and SaaS products

LLM features that earn their keep, like assistants on your own data, smart search, document processing and automations, built into your existing app.

Starting price

From €2,400

The final price depends on scope. You get a fixed quote or a day-rate estimate before any work starts.

Who this is for

You already have a product with users, and you want AI to do a specific job inside it: summarize long records, draft replies, classify incoming requests, answer questions from your documentation, or turn raw data into explanations people can read. You don't need a chatbot bolted onto the homepage. You need a feature that gives correct, useful output on real data, costs a predictable amount per user, and keeps working when a provider changes a model.

That is the work I do. I'm a senior full-stack developer with 15+ years of shipping web products, and I add AI features to existing Nuxt, Vue, Laravel, Next.js and Node.js apps. If your product is still a prototype built with an AI tool, start with AI prototype to production instead.

How I approach an AI feature

  • One feature, one measurable job. We agree on what a good output looks like before I write a single prompt.
  • Your data, not a demo. I test against real examples from your product and keep them as an evaluation set, so every later prompt or model change is checked against the same cases.
  • Structured outputs. Responses are validated against a schema before they touch your database or your users.
  • Provider choice stays open. OpenAI, Claude and Gemini sit behind one interface, so switching models is a configuration change.
  • Costs you can see. Token usage is logged per feature, repeat requests are cached, and per-user limits prevent surprises.
  • Retrieval where it helps. For answers grounded in your own content, I add embeddings and search in PostgreSQL with pgvector, without a separate vector database to run.

Proof

On WithMaslow, a personality assessment platform, I rebuilt the API in Laravel 13 and added AI-generated insights with Laravel AI and Gemini, shown to users in the Nuxt 4 front end. The same product also has an MCP server so AI assistants can use it directly, which is a separate service: MCP server development.

I use AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor every day, and I review and test every change myself. The same habit carries over to client work: AI output is material to check, never the final answer.

What affects the price

AI integration projects start from €2,400; you get a fixed quote after a short scoping call. The price mostly depends on:

  • how many features or screens use AI
  • whether answers must come from your own documents (RAG) or only from the model
  • how clean and accessible your data is
  • the review steps you need, such as human approval before anything is published

How we work

  1. 1

    Discovery call

We pick the one AI feature with the clearest value for your users and check what data it needs to work.

  2. 2

    Prototype on real data

I build a working version against your actual content, and we review its outputs together before anything ships.

  3. 3

    Production build

I add validation, error handling, rate limits, cost tracking and tests, then ship the feature behind your existing sign-in.

  4. 4

    Launch and tuning

After launch I review logs and outputs, adjust prompts and model choice, and hand over the documentation.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to add AI to an existing app?

AI integration projects start from €2,400 for a single, well-scoped feature such as summaries, classification or generated insights. Larger work, like RAG search over your documents or a multi-step assistant, is quoted after a short scoping call. You get a fixed price before work starts, and anything outside the scope is billed at €60/hour or €480/day.

Which AI model should we use, OpenAI, Claude or Gemini?

It depends on the task, the cost per request and where your data is allowed to be processed. I usually test two or three models on your real examples and pick the cheapest one that meets the quality bar. The integration is built so that switching providers later is a configuration change, not a rewrite.

How do you keep AI costs under control?

I log token usage per feature, cache repeat requests, set per-user limits and use smaller models wherever they are good enough. You see what each feature costs before launch, not on the first invoice.

Can you add AI features to a Laravel or Nuxt app?

Yes, that is my core stack. On WithMaslow I added AI-generated insights to a Laravel 13 API with Laravel AI and Gemini, shown in a Nuxt 4 front end. I also work with Node.js, Next.js and the Vercel AI SDK.

How do you stop the AI from giving wrong or made-up answers?

No model is right every time, so I design around that. Outputs are validated against a schema, answers are grounded in your own data where possible, and an evaluation set of real examples is rerun before each prompt or model change. For sensitive features, a person approves the output before users see it.

How long does an AI integration take?

A single, well-scoped feature is usually live within two to three weeks, including review time on your side. Projects with RAG search or several features take longer, and the timeline is part of the written proposal.
